Editor’s Note
A hundred and four years ago, a shadow climbed a staircase and cinema learned how to be afraid. Nosferatu is not a film about a monster. It is a film about contagion: how fear moves through a town, a ship, a marriage, and how only an act of love, freely given, can stop it.
For this SpiritualCine Edition we kept the soul of 1922: the original color tints of the Murnau Foundation restoration, amber for day, cold green and blue for night. We rebuilt every intertitle in English, and gave the film a new score built around Ravens of War: dark orchestral, electronic and ritual, made to be played loud on Halloween night.
Watch it in the dark. Let the shadow do its work.
